    The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

    I got sober for a brief moment in time and I finally found a framework for God that I could be content with. A God of my understanding. It was very liberating when I finally decided that God was big enough that he could manifest Himself to me in a unique way that only He and I understood. And because of that I can go into church every Sunday and not feel like a hypocrite because I accepted the fact that everyone else's relationship with God is none of my business and focus solely on strengthening my conscious contact with Him. And by the way you listed religions not faith. My faith is founded in my experience of the journey that brought me to this conclusion.

      @OlDogger it was put to me this way during that same time period, it's like a wagon wheel, God is at the center and the spokes are the various religions. All religions are just a different pathway to the same God. I was in college when 9/11 happened and my Algebra class was at 530 thought by an Indian or Pakastanian I forget. And he started the class with no mention of the attack and after a couple of minutes he stopped and asked the class if we understood why this happened and somebody spoke up about Allah. And to this day I still think this when someone says they worship Jesus Christ not Allah. He wrote Allah on the board and said "Yes but what is Allah" some very colorful if not racist remarks and he wrote God above Allah. Allah is just the name assigned to God in that religion. I've come to find out that that statement holds true in almost all religions.

      @OlDogger I've deduced my beliefs from several different sources and consciousness was the main research and contemplation subject of mine for many years. I wont go into to many footnotes for this statement because the list is painfully long but I will preface it with the Copenhagen interpretation of the double slit experiment which postulates that reality only exists as I observe it. So "we" as mutual observers of this reality create the collective conscious that our own consciousness manifests from and from that collective conscious God is created that breathes life into us through his creation of the tangible universe that we find ourselves in. Of everything I've read, studied and consumed up to and including the bible that is as close to a truth in concept as I'm gonna be able understand with my limited perceptory senses and my far more limited processing capacity.

    I was raised a Christian (Old-Reformed), but even though I still believe in God, I'm no longer a member of a church.
    During my teens I was constantly berated, punished, belittled, and condemned for what was considered 'sinful' behaviour, and when I came out at age 18, almost my entire family and most of my old 'friends' rejected me for being a lesbian. All of that was enough for me to break with my religion.

    My religious belief is.....

    Australian Rules Football.

    And MY particular god is......the Collingwood Football Club.

    For six months of the year I pull out my prayer mat and cheer for Collingwood....the Mighty Magpies.

    Though sadly the prayer season is coming to the end, come September 29 the prayer mat goes into mothballs until next season.

      I know and understand your boredom w/the kind of predictable and monotonous posts. This thread was enhanced as one for which it hadn't received any replies, though it's title broached a penetrating point for those who chose to respond (which is why in this Dostoevskian culture of what is normally posted for provocative red meat, that has already has been beaten to death to no solution, generally; there were few takers). This post and some more addressed the responder's mindset than some abstract point for pontificating and posturing-in the manner I like to post on here, plus why this visit by me was done as a substitute to my normal posts.

    I practice Christianity and I read and study the Bible. Nevertheless, my theological beliefs are vague enough to approach agnosticism. I am a Christian with religious doubts. I am one who wants to believe.

    I also have a high regard for Judaism and Buddhism. Islam? Not so much.
